Meaning
of Seishin
The
Chinese character of "sei" means pure or truthful
and the character "shin" roughly translates to
heart or mind.
Our club's literal translation of the word SEISHIN is "pure
mind".
Judo is a form of martial art that requires swift use of the mind
as well as the body. Your body must act in unison with your mind
and spirit to produce an instinctive action, yielding to your opponents
movements, yet delivering a decisive and graceful finish.
In order to condition one's self to be able to take such decisive
action it is important to train your mind together with your body.
You must be able to concentrate and totally focus your mind towards
achieving your aim. At Seishin we aim to combine your mind, body
and spirit into a total effort.
